CONCRETE

CONCRETE PAVING REPAIRS
Constructed properly, concrete paving will provide the longest life of all the choices available. You should still expect to have occasional repairs and like other facility items, proper maintenance can often delay or forestall problems.
In the DFW area, we see two major conditions that affect concrete paving. First, inadequate initial construction design or implementation. Four inches of concrete is not strong enough for even the average retail or office parking lot. And six inches of concrete will not provide long term service in trucking and industrial lots. If the installation contractor left the reinforcing steel laying on the ground while they placed the concrete or added too much water to the concrete material during installation, the concrete will fail prematurely.
Second, we have extremely volatile clay soils in North Texas, which can easily break paving into pieces as the ground shrinks and swells with moisture content. Lime stabilization done prior to the original installation will slow this process, but lime tends to disappear from the soil after ten or fifteen years, and then the trouble begins.
With years of experience, our estimators can help you determine the proper paving cross section to make sure the first repair to an area is the last repair to that area.
SIDEWALKS
Safe, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks contribute to the safety and aesthetic image of a property. As a property or facility manager, you are responsible for providing a safe path of travel for your tenants, customers and visitors. It’s important to maintain the walks on your property to avoid the liability associated cracked and/or heaved sidewalk blocks. Sidewalks move due to ground settling or tree roots and must be replaced.
ADA COMPLIANT RAMPS
Many properties have not been fully brought up to ADA standards, more than twenty-five years after the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. At some point you may be cited by State or City inspectors. And building uses change, new tenants move in or additions to the building are made. Whether you need simple changes or have a full set of plans for your needed ADA updates, Anderson Paving can work with you to bring your property up to code.
